Carriers count on CHEMTREC
When an incident occurs, emergency responders, manufacturers, shippers, and transportation companies rely on CHEMTREC® to provide critical communication and technical assistance. As a carrier, you should too!
When carrier information is documented with CHEMTREC, it facilitates immediate, accurate response in emergency situations.
It is not unusual that a first responder will call CHEMTREC to report an incident involving a carrier before the incident is known to the carrier's dispatch center. If pre-registered contact information is on file, the Emergency Service Specialist can immediately notify the proper carrier personnel for a coordinated response.
Providing your information to CHEMTREC as a carrier is free of charge. Remember, however, that if the carrier is going to act as a shipper of hazardous materials, a conventional CHEMTREC shipper's registration is also required.
As a registered carrier company, CHEMTREC can help you help your customers:
- Save valuable time in the event of an incident
- Supply information on damaged hazardous goods to your clients
- Maintain a "central hub" for information
- Make practiced decisions about the carrier's response workforce and how they handle emergency situations
- Monitor safety in the carrier's terminals and evaluate the need for training
If you are a carrier, and want to become part of the largest network of communication experts and transportation resources, contact CHEMTREC Customer Service.
