Most manufacturing organizations will use hazardous materials or dangerous goods in the making of their finished products and therefore have the responsibility of complying with various regulations surrounding the safe use and handling of chemicals, training of their staff and, incident preparedness, response, and recovery.

The finished products, not only from chemical manufacturers but also from many other types of manufacturers, may have classifiable hazards under the supply1 regulations and/or may be classified as hazardous materials or dangerous goods for transportation under one or more transport modes. Regulatory compliance support across multiple jurisdictions is therefore required.
