Safety Data Sheet Specialist

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Remote

Position Summary

The position supports the product team on the CHEMTREC’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Solution service, including managing execution of SDS service(s) to customers. The position reports directly to the Safety Data Sheet Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports CHEMTREC’s SDS Solutions suite of services, including SDS authoring and management. 
    Creates new and revises current SDS, including incorporating chemical, health, safety, and regulatory information as required by federal statute.  
    Researches and analyzes available data, including evaluating for quality and reliability.
    Uses chemical expertise to create chemical compositions based on chemical ingredients and analyze chemical compositions to determine final product compositions. 
    Organizes and manages multiple customer projects, including collecting necessary information to deliver final product in a timely manner.
    Authors SDS using an SDS authoring platform or other means.
    Improves existing processes and develops new processes to author SDS. 
    Works with the SDS Authoring Manager and Product Team to help build out SDS management offering.
    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
  • Two years SDS authoring experience.
  • Experience using SDS authoring platforms: i.e. Lisam, SAP, WERCS, 3E Generate.
  • Knowledge of authoring regulations (i.e., EU CLP, US OSHA, Canadian WHMIS, etc.).
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one and certification in one or more transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG, TDG).
  • Demonstrated classification skills under at least three classification criteria (i.e. UN Purple book, US OSHA, EU CLP, Canadian WHMIS).
  • Microsoft Office suite skills.
  • Excellent analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical knowledge across a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong teamwork and customer relationship skills.  
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a science-related field or discipline.
  • Safety Data Sheet Register Professional (SDSRP) credentials.

Junior Accounting Specialist

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Falls Church, VA

Position Summary

The position is responsible for assisting the other junior accounting specialist, the accounting specialist, and the Accounting Operations Manager in; renewal and new sales invoicing processes, A/R-Collections to include tracking and resolving outstanding payments, and any other duties needing assistance. The role will also involve processing refunds on all customer invoices. The position reports directly to the Accounting Operations Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in invoicing existing and new customers.
  • Assist in monthly renewable customer billing.
  • Applies customer payments and researches any payment discrepancies.
  • Assist Accounting Specialist-Collections in collections of outstanding invoices.
  • Assist in processing refunds on all registrant accounts when needed.
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable Outlook inbox.
  • Complete vendor forms as requested by existing and potential customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Six months accounts receivable experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, metric-based environment.
  • Experience with high volume billing.
  • Strong attention to detail and goal oriented.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
